tell us just how long this next storm is expected to last... .synopsis...a few residual lingering showers are possible this evening, otherwise dry conditions expected. the next rain band will move south to north across the district on friday before turning to lingering showers saturday morning. mainly dry saturday afternoon and sunday with the next front arriving sunday night into monday with another round of wind and rain. a final system will bring another chance of rain tuesday with showers lingering wednesday and thursday of next week along with seasonably cool temperatures. && .discussion...as of 2:02 pm pst thursday...showers have mostly ended across the district. then next storm is still on track to spread rain from the south, with areas around point conception and south expected to receive the brunt of the rain. rain is expected to begin across southern coastal monterey before you leave for work tomorrow... check in with the kron4 morning news. we have weather and traffic updates starting at 4:00 a-m.

receive the brunt of the rain. rain is expected to begin across southern coastal monterey county after midnight, and intensify and spread north through the morning. winds will be gusty from the southeast with this as a surface low drops down along the coast, especially in the salinas valley and across the southern mountain ranges. a wind advisory has been issued for the mountains and valleys across the southern third of the district, or so. the southeast winds could produce rain shadow effects in certain areas, like the monterey peninsula, however areas in the santa lucias as well as the salinas valley are expected to see decent rainfall. overall, a moderate rain event is expected for friday with 1-4 inches for the hills and 0.25-1.25 for the lower elevations.
